Hello Everyone. I don't have many new things to say. Just hoping that you all can visit http://www.jorufoundation.org and sponsor a deserving student for only $15/month. These students mostly come from nomadic families and most have lost either both parents or one parent, or simply cannot afford to attend a normal school. They are currently attending Sengdruk Taktse School, which currently provides education and housing for nearly 300 kids. In addition to learning all the major subjects such as math and science, these students are also learning Tibetan language and writing very well, ensuring that it will stay alive for years to come. They are also learning the dances of Ling Gesar in a very traditional manner, yet another dying tradition that must be preserved. In the future, we would like to build a school for Tibetan medicine. There are currently no schools in Golok that provide training for Tibetan medicine. There are some in Kham, but not Golok. A well known Tibetan doctor from Kham is willing to move to the school and begin training some students from the ground up. This is an extremely valuable opportunity for these students as well as the people of Golok in general.
