- I'm 30 years old and live in Berkeley, CA. I recently traveled to Tibet and had the great fortune to teach at a special school in Golok, Eastern Tibet. This school is built on sacred land and was founded by some of the brightest scholars currently living in Tibet, Khenpo Kunzang Gyaltsen, and Thupten Norbu Rinpoche. Both of these Lamas spent many years at Khenpo Jigme Phuntsok's hermitage/Buddhist Academy known as Larung Gar. The students at this school are mostly orphans from nomadic families, and they are now getting a second chance to receive an education, not just in the normal subjects, but also Tibetan poetry, and traditional Gesar dances. This school is very very special! Please, do anything you can to help!
